As the spread of the COVID Delta variant increases in our area, we will continue for this Sunday to allow face coverings to be optional for those who are fully vaccinated. Those who are not fully vaccinated or have a serious medical condition must wear their face covering.
The CDC and the medical advisory team of the Synod have recommended that all individuals, vaccinated or not, wear face coverings at worship.
Luther urged those in leadership during the plague of 1527, “If one makes no use of intelligence or medicine . . . such a person injures his body and must beware. It is even more shameful for a person to pay no heed to his own body and to fail to protect it against the plague the best he is able and then to infect and poison others . . . Use medicine, take the protections the best that your intelligence teaches you.”
