The Rev Robert (Bob) Hopkins, Pastor, was born in Philadelphia and raised in the Somerton section of the city. He graduated from George Washington High School and holds a B.S. in Social Work from Springfield College, Springfield Mass, and a Master’s of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia with advanced graduate work at Princeton Seminary.
Pastor Hopkins has served as Pastor in churches in the Kensington, Manayunk, and Roxborough sections of the city as well as the Grace Lutheran Church in Hatfield, PA where gave leadership to a new million-dollar sanctuary. He has served as the chaplain for Holy Redeemer Hospice and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and he has worked for the YMCAs of New York City, NY, and Towson, MD.
Pastor Hopkins has been serving Saints United since May 2015, and besides serving as Pastor at Saints United, Pastor Hopkins recently retired from the Philadelphia Corporation for the Aging. He is a father of two children and has two grandchildren. He enjoys history, reading, and all sports especially bicycling and swimming.
